Thaynes Canyon

A home built to embrace the land and water, connected by bridges, with a stream which flows through the structures.

YEAR 2016

LOCATION Park City, Utah


This property was purchased with an existing dilapidated home on-site, which was torn down stick-by-stick and donated to a local nonprofit.

Also on the property—a stream with its headwaters in a spring at the base of Thaynes Canyon.

A pavilionized floor plan was created, with bridges between each pavilion, which allows that stream to flow directly through the courtyards of the house. The sounds of the stream whisper through the house through all of the windows.

The home was part of the Park City Showcase of Homes and winner of Best of Show.
